Before You Wax
First things first: relax! You are in great hands. In order to make the process more enjoyable, here are a few things you can do to prepare:

Make sure your hair is at least 1/4 of an inch long.

Take a warm shower before your wax to open up the pores
(not necessary)

You need at least 3-4 weeks of hair growth since your last shave. The longer the hair is, the smoother your results will be.

Gentle exfoliation the night before can help prep the skin and prevent ingrown hairs.

DO NOT
trim prior to your appointment.

Avoid any gels, lotions, or oils before your wax, as they may interfere with your hair removal.
Waxing Aftercare

After a wax, your hair follicles are open for 24 hours. For best results, please follow the instructions below to prevent bacteria from getting into your pores and clogging them. This will ensure the smoothest results possible.

Exfoliation
This step is very important!
Gently exfoliate your skin 3-5 days after your wax to remove dead skin. Skipping exfoliation can cause dead skin to build up and clog pores or trap hair underneath, causing ingrown hairs.
Be sure to follow exfoliation with an enriching, nourishing moisturizer. We recommend PFB Serum or Zandi-K Deck Scrub and Moisturizer, which we have available for purchase in the salon,. This will prevent ingrown hairs and ensure your next wax is easier and less painful.
It's common to experience light soreness, small bumps, and redness after a wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24-48 hours.
Irritation
To soothe and protect the skin, apply Hydrocortisone as needed. To maintain your smooth appearance, it's recommended to get waxed every 4-6 weeks.
